The French

Aside from the Iffel tower, Arc de Triomphe and the baguette, the french has delivered yet another very important gift to the world. The Traditional French cultural studies. This study is probably one of the most innovative study as it paves way to more liberal studies. It is only here that we are given the chance to finally study what is truly going on within a group of people, and what better way could we make a study of them but t to study the factors which affects the masses the most? Pop culture. The french studies has created a study most comprehensive if what you wish is to learn of the things that makes an individual tick? What makes them act the way they do and why do they react to such? It shifts focus from studying countries, states, government and its leaders to the very people that makes the said organizations/institutions work. A fine theory I must say if one wishes to study the people instead of the boring old theories probably no longer of relevance to our time.

Also the idea of the Carnival fascinates me, where the playing round no longer centers itself to being powerful. The weak poisons the mind of the strong, they make them think that being strong is wrong and immoral thus rendering the strong sympathetic to the weak and guilty because of his status. The weak while he cannot contend with the strong instead makes fun of their authority rendering them a joke, something for those on top to think about.

One thing that strikes me from this theory however, is that aside from its broadness meaning its study of popular culture results to different social interpretations is that it also gives me this personal feel. Personal in the context that it gives its subject much value unlike when a person is treated more of a data reference, in this case the person is the theory.
